Qatar Living in conversation with accomplished Qatari mountaineer, Fahad Badar, and his zeal to inspire others to live life to the fullest even with a limb disability. Badar is a banker by profession, a mountaineer, and an outdoor enthusiast who has won accolades for the country by being the first Arab to scale Mt. Everest and Mt. Lhotse in one single expedition in May 2019.

Badar further went ahead to embark on the Mt. Broad Peak in Pakistan in June 2021, and eventually suffered hypothermia and severe frostbite on his hands. The unfortunate incident left him with no choice but to undergo amputation in four fingers of his left hand and a part of the ring finger on the right hand.

This hasn’t deterred him from being active on his TikTok account with over half a million subscribers where he shares his journey of fitness, outdoor exploration, and training along with his limb disability.
Qatar Living spoke with him regarding his efforts to improve awareness among the Qataris and Arab world about living life to the fullest and not letting amputated limbs affect your dreams.
