Doha Healthcare Week (DHW) developed by the World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH) is taking place from November 8-14, 2020.
WISH, Qatar Foundation’s global health initiative, will work with local partners, such as the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH), Hamad Medical Corporation (HMC), and Sidra Medicine, to engage the community in learning about different subjects, including the importance of prenatal ultrasounds and the relationship between COVID-19 and diabetes.

In keeping with its focus on healthcare innovation, WISH has partnered with the Ministry of Transport and Communications (MoTC), who will present an Entrepreneurship Session for healthcare innovators and entrepreneurs at their TASMU Innovation Lab on November 8.
Aspetar will be presenting a one-day workshop about health and nutrition, with BMI tests and consultations for students and their parents on November 10 and PE teachers on November 11.
Qatar Diabetes Association will present COVID-19 and Diabetes on November 10 at 5:30 pm. The session will discuss the latest studies done to reflect the different effects of COVID-19 on people with prediabetes, diabetes, gestational diabetes, and obesity.
To mark World Diabetes Day on November 14, HMC, the MoPH, and the PHCC will also present a session on diabetes. In addition, they will partner to hold public sessions on mental health and geriatrics, respectively.
Sidra Medicine’s participation at DHW has a primary focus on women’s health. The first ‘Meet Sidra Medicine’s Experts’ webinar session will be Recommendations on Ultrasound in Pregnancy on November 10, from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm.
The second webinar on Women’s Health and its Challenges will be presented by Dr. Aisha Ahmad Yousuf on November 12, from 2:00 pm-3:00 pm.
November is Lung Cancer Awareness Month, and Qatar Cancer Society (QCS), in collaboration with HMC and the National Cancer Program at the MoPH, will present a CPD-accredited webinar for primary health care providers on Suspected Lung Cancer Referral Guidelines on November 14.
