The World Innovation Summit for Health (WISH), Qatar Foundation’s global health initiative, has announced that its annual Doha Healthcare Week is set to take place from November 8 - November 14.

This year will include several mental and physical wellbeing activities, health checks, cooking classes, workshops, webinars, and competitions.

The week will also see a limited number of physical outdoor activities in line with Qatar’s regulations for social distancing. Those who wish to participate are encouraged to register early as spaces for these activities are limited.

‘WISH Walks’ is a series of self-guided walks aimed to promote an active healthy lifestyle and is set to take place in the beautiful public parks of Doha. The activity brought together by the community aims to promote healthy walking in the beautiful outside space of these parks.

MIA Park (2.5 km), Aspire Park (4.5 km), Oxygen Park (1 km) in Education City, and Al Bidda Park (3 km) are the public parks that will feature this year's 'WISH Walks'. You can also click here to download a map indicating the specific routes for the walk.

On November 13, a walk through Education City’s Oxygen Park will be led by Phone Art Qatar, encouraging participants to promote the importance of healthy living through their camera.

On November 9, Qatar Music Academy will present an 80-minute music therapy workshop to educate the public on the therapeutic benefits of music. It will showcase examples of how music therapy was used to treat children with special needs and highlight its importance in neurological rehabilitation and mental health.

Moreover, Virginia Commonwealth University School of the Arts will provide an online art therapy training session on November 11, whereas, an online healthy lunchbox competition will be hosted by Weill Cornell Medicine Qatar through the social media app, Instagram. Participants can post a photo using #SahtakAwalan to win an Apple watch, a mountain bike, or Your Health First body fat smart scale.
