Eid-al-Fitr prayer only to be held in approved mosques, not to exceed 15 mins

The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs has announced that Eid Al Fitr prayerfor the year 1447 AH will be performed inside enclosed mosques across the country.

The ministry said the decision was taken to ensure the safety and well-being of worshippers. According to the announcement, the Eid prayer is scheduled to take place at 5.53am throughout Qatar.

The list of mosques where the Eid prayer will be held will be announced, it said.

In its statement, the ministry also prayed for the continued protection and prosperity of the nation, its leadership, citizens, and residents, and expressed hopes that the blessed occasion would return with goodness and blessings for all.

Earlier,the Crescent Moon Sighting Committee at the ministryurged all Muslims residing in the State of Qatar to observe the Shawwal crescent on the evening of Wednesday, March 18.
