The Ministry of Endowments and Islamic Affairs, through its Mosques Department, inaugurated the Fahd bin Falih Al Shahwani Mosque in Al Jamiliya after demolishing and rebuilding it as part of its ongoing plan to expand mosque construction and services in line with urban and population growth.
The new congregational mosque, endowed by a benefactor, is built on a 750‑square‑metre plot and bears the number M.S. 388.
It was redesigned to modern engineering standards to provide an integrated worship environment, accommodating 156 worshippers and offering facilities such as ablution areas and a minaret in keeping with Qatar’s mosque architecture.

The ministry stressed that the project reflects the role of endowments as a key partner in community development and highlights the values of giving and solidarity in Qatari society, where donors support mosque construction and endowment initiatives.
The opening aligns with the Ministry’s 2025–2030 strategic plan, which focuses on strengthening mosque infrastructure, improving religious services, and supporting mosques’ roles in worship, guidance and community service, as well as with Qatar National Vision 2030 on human development, identity and values.
