Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs HE Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani held a telephone conversation with Hamas Political Bureau Chairman Dr Khalil Al Hayya on Friday.
At the outset of the call, HE Sheikh Mohammed congratulated Dr Al Hayya on assuming his new responsibilities, expressing his best wishes for success in serving the interests of the Palestinian people.
He also welcomed the movement’s decision to accept the roadmap for completing the second phase of the ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip, expressing hope that this would contribute to ending the suffering of the Palestinian people in the Strip and to fulfilling their aspirations for security and stability.
He stressed the need for the international community to assume its responsibilities and pressure Israel to fulfill its obligations under the agreement and cease its ongoing violations of the rights of the Palestinian people, thus ensuring the completion of the roadmap and achieving peace and stability in the Gaza Strip.
