Qatar’s Saif pole vaults to personal best of 5.83m in Germany

Qatar’s Saif Mohammed produced a personal best clearance of 5.83M to finish runner-up at the 30th International Pole Vault Meeting in Jockgrim, Germany, recently.

The effort also saw him rewrite the record books by setting new Qatar, Gulf, West Asian and Arab records. Saif cleared 5.83M on his third attempt, matching the winning height of Filipino star EJ Obiena, who claimed gold after clearing the mark on his first try.

Türkiye’s Ersu Sasma finished third with a clearance of 5.77M. Saif, Obiena and Sasma all attempted 5.93M, but were unable to clear the height after three attempts.
