Qatari mountaineer Sheikha Asma bint Thani Al Thani has reached another major milestone in her high-altitude climbing journey after successfully scaling Gasherbrum II in the Karakoram mountain range.

The latest achievement brings the number of mountain peaks exceeding 8,000 metres that she has climbed to 11, as she continues her pursuit of some of the world's highest and most challenging summits.
