Eleven chief executives leading Qatar-based organisations were named in Forbes Middle East’s Top 100 CEOs 2026 ranking, underscoring the country’s growing influence across banking, energy, telecoms, insurance and financial services.
The annual list, which features 102 executives across 100 entries from 21 nationalities, recognises leaders who have delivered strong financial results while driving innovation, resilience and long-term growth.
Banking dominates with 30 entries, followed by real estate and construction with eight. Forbes compiled the ranking using company disclosures, annual reports and industry data, assessing regional impact, leadership experience, company size, financial performance and innovation.
QatarEnergy’s President and CEO, Saad Sherida Al-Kaabi, was highlighted after another year of international expansion, including MoUs for offshore exploration in Syria, studying Cypriot gas development via Egypt’s infrastructure, and an offshore hydrocarbon discovery in the Republic of the Congo.
QNB Group CEO Abdulla Mubarak Al Khalifa was recognised after QNB reported total assets of about $387.3bn and a Q1 2026 net profit of $1.2bn, operating in more than 28 countries with over 900 locations.
Sheikh Mohammed bin Hamad bin Faisal Al Thani, CEO of Qatar Free Zones Authority (QFZ), saw the authority’s licensed investor base reach 837 companies by end-2025, with expected cumulative investments of $5.3bn and more than 13,000 jobs created.
Ahmed Hashem, Acting Group CEO of Dukhan Bank, posted a Q1 2026 net profit of $117.8m and total assets of $34.7bn while expanding open banking and fintech partnerships.
Also featured were Doha Bank Group CEO Sheikh Abdulrahman bin Fahad bin Faisal Al Thani, Qatar Insurance Group CEO Salem Al Mannai, Ooredoo Group CEO Aziz Aluthman Fakhroo, Qatar Gas Transport Company’s (Nakilat) Managing Director Abdullah Al-Sulaiti,
Qatar Development Bank CEO Abdulrahman bin Hesham Al-Sowaidi, Qatar Financial Centre Authority CEO Mansoor Al-Khater, and Qatar Islamic Bank Group CEO Bassel Gamal.
The strong Qatari presence reflects continued efforts to build globally competitive institutions aligned with National Vision 2030, reinforcing Qatar’s status as a leading regional business and investment hub.
