The State of Qatar has maintained the first position in the region in political stability and the rule of law, as part of the 2026 update of the World Bank's Global Governance Indicators, which strengthens its position as a regional model in stability and consolidates the rule of law and security.
A statement by the National Planning Council indicated today that the State of Qatar came among the top three in the region in the dimensions of government effectiveness, anti-corruption and organizational quality, and recorded progress in four out of six dimensions compared to the previous version, including political stability with a score of 83.86 percent, government effectiveness with a score of 72.73 percent, organizational quality with a score of 72.67 percent, and anti-corruption with a score of 65.81 percent, where the most prominent improvement was recorded in the anti-corruption dimension with an increase of 2.74 points.
He added that these results reflect the State of Qatar's continuous efforts to develop institutional performance and enhance the efficiency of government work, in order to ensure the achievement of the goals of the Qatar National Vision 2030, and also emphasize the importance of continuing efforts and benefiting from the results of international indicators in determining priorities for development and improvement.
The World Bank's Global Governance Indicators (GGIs), released annually, measure the quality of governance in more than 200 countries and regions around the world, across six key dimensions: voice and accountability, political stability, government effectiveness, organizational quality, rule of law, and anti-corruption.
The World Bank relies on collecting and compiling data from hundreds of diverse sources, such as opinion polls, think tanks, civil society organizations, and private companies.
