Qatar’s Cabinet held its regular meeting via video conferencing this afternoon.

During the meeting, the Cabinet gave its nod of approval to changes in restrictions on the maximum workforce in offices and services at private healthcare centers.

These will be effective from July 1, 2020, until further notice.

His Excellency the Minister of Justice and Acting Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Dr Issa bin Saad Al Jafali Al Nuaimi announced the details of the decisions at the end of the meeting.

The following were the decisions made: 

- The Cabinet amended the decision to reduce the number of employees present at their place of work in the government sector to no more than 50 percent of the total number of employees. The rest of the employees can work from home.

- The Cabinet amended the decision to reduce the number of employees present at their place of work in the private sector to no more than 50 percent of the total number of employees. The rest of the employees can work from home.

- The Cabinet decided to alter the decision regarding stopping medical services in health facilities. Accordingly, private health care facilities can operate at 60 percent of the capacity, while continuing to provide emergency services.

The Cabinet heard a presentation by the Minister of Public Health on the latest developments to reduce the spread of COVID-19. The Cabinet affirmed to continue the application of the precautionary measures and procedures taken in order to combat this pandemic. #QNA
