In an exciting turn of events, Qatar Airways announced that popular R&B and hip-hop artist Akon, will perform live at the spectacular motorsport event scheduled to take place at Lusail Boulevard on Wednesday, February 22, from 5:00 pm onwards.

Organized by Qatar Airways, the event promises a star studded line-up featuring Qatar’s five-time Dakar Rally champion Nasser Saleh Al Attiyah in his rally car, David Coulthard in a Red Bull Formula 1 car, Dani Pedrosa in a MotoGP bike and Abdo Feghali in a Red Bull drift car. The event is free to attend and attendees can look forward to a mesmerizing fireworks display and other entertainment along with the spectacular performance by motorsport champions.

Four viewing screens have been added for attendees to enjoy the event along with a public viewing area along the boulevard. Those attending the event can take the metro or park in one of the public parking spots along Lusail Boulevard.

The F1 demonstration is being held to celebrate the multiple motorsport events scheduled to take place in Qatar this year. Motorsport enthusiasts can look forward to the F1 Sprint from October 6-8 and the MotoGP races from November 17-19 in addition to the Geneva International Motor Show in October.

Speaking about the event, Qatar Airways Group Chief Executive Akbar Al Baker said, “Following the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022, and now a growing motorsports presence, Qatar is quickly becoming a hub for global sporting events. Qatar Airways will continue to display the synergy between travel and sports, giving fans the ultimate travel experience to their favourite events, especially in Qatar."
