Ashghal will close a stretch of the Al Matar Street (Airport Road) — between D Ring and C Ring roads in both directions — for 12 hours on Thursday and Friday.
The closure, in co-ordination with the Traffic Department, will start at 11pm on Thursday and last until 11am on Friday, reported Gulf Times.
The road is being blocked in order to install the steel structure of a pedestrian bridge on Al Matar Street, reported The Peninsula.

During this period, drivers can use the service roads on both sides of Al Matar Street to move between the D-Ring Road and C-Ring Road, and to reach the neighbouring local roads.
The pedestrian bridge is expected to enhance traffic safety and enable pedestrians to safely cross Al Matar Street and reach commercial buildings in the area, in addition to reducing accidents.
Ashghal will install road signs to advice motorists of the closure. The authority has requested all road users to abide by the speed limits, and follow the road signs to ensure safety, according to Qatar Tribune.
