Vodafone Qatar has announced that all services have finally been restored, thus putting behind them the company’s worst crisis since opening shop in the country a few years ago.

The company, in a Tweet on social media, said all its network services, including 4G+, voice and data services, have been restored and are functioning smoothly.

“All our network services, including 4G+ have been restored. We will be announcing our new customer appreciation programme soon,” Vodafone Qatar said on its Twitter account.

In another tweet, the telecom provider were apologetic to their customers for the inconvenience.

“We thank you for bearing with us during this time and we sincerely apologise for the inconvenience,” the tweet said.

On July 17, Vodafone Qatar had suffered a fault on its Home Location Register, affecting its services throughout the country.

The company said the equipment failure took place during a network upgrade. While some services were restored after two days, some basic services, like calls to other networks, and high-end services like 4G, were still not working.

Qatar’s Communications Regulatory Authority has announced a full probe into the failure and investigations are currently ongoing.

Vodafone Qatar has announced a compensation package for people who were affected by the outage.

Meanwhile, the Qatar Central Securities Depository announced that it had amended the foreign ownership percentage in the shares of Vodafone Qatar to become 49% of the company’s capital, as of today, reported Gulf Times. Vodafone Qatar is a Qatari shareholding company listed on the Qatar Exchange.
