His Excellency Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs, participated today in a consultative meeting held by Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and Highnesses the Foreign Ministers of the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) states via video conference.
During the meeting, views were exchanged on current developments, the latest developments in ongoing negotiations, and efforts to advance them towards practical understandings that contribute to reducing tensions and strengthening regional security and stability. Discussions
also focused on ways to intensify coordination and consultation among the GCC states regarding issues related to freedom of navigation and safety in the Strait of Hormuz, ensuring the rights of passage and transit, and the smooth flow of ships, trade, and supplies, in accordance with international law, and preserving the sovereign rights of all Gulf littoral states.
Their Highnesses, Excellencies, and Highnesses the Ministers emphasized the importance of continuing joint action, prioritizing political and diplomatic solutions, and creating favorable conditions for building trust and reaching mutually acceptable solutions.
