On Monday afternoon, Qatar's Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, attended the opening session of the World Economic Forum in Davos. The conference had the theme "History at a Crossroads." On the fringes of the World Economic Forum gathering, Amir met with Klaus Schwab, Executive Chairman of the World Economic Forum. Their Excellencies members of the official delegation attended the meeting.

At the opening session, HH the Amir gave a speech. Amir stated in his speech that resolving disputes through aggression is on the rise, and that it has reached one of its worst heights in the European conflict. They are in contact with all parties involved in the Ukrainian crisis and are prepared to participate in any international or regional effort aimed at finding a quick and peaceful resolution to the conflict between Russia and Ukraine. Qatar strongly opposes any conduct that violates a state's sovereignty, as well as any act that violates international law. They stand in solidarity with the millions of innocent refugees fleeing the European conflict and victims of all races.
He adds on about the most prominent example being Palestine, which has been an open wound since the United Nations was founded. Those family have been enslaved for decades with little prospect of relief. The escalation of illegal settlement violence, as well as the ongoing attacks against the Palestinian people, has been relentless. He prays that the world recognizes and responds to injustice and violence.
He talks about conflict resolution and their ongoing efforts in Afghanistan. They were privileged to be able to assist with the Afghan evacuation attempts. And it was only possible because of the years spent investing in peacekeeping: expert mediation, cutting-edge military and special forces, world-class search-and-rescue teams, and countless hours of sweat and tears from countless people. Years of investment, training, and strategic partnership development paid off. When we were called upon to intervene and save people. He was incredibly grateful for everyone's efforts.

They discussed various themes of mutual interest on the forum's agenda, particularly those connected to the economy, during the meeting. Qatar has prioritized sustainability and allocated resources to the development of emission-reduction technology and cleaner energy. Amir mentions to take a leading role in promoting regional and international policy development in the areas of energy and the environment. This will necessitate close coordination and collaboration among all governments, businesses, stakeholders, and each of us. Qatar has been investing in LNG development initiatives for years as one of the world's top LNG producers. Increased LNG production can provide a cleaner, safer, more stable, and flexible energy source for the world. Increasing global energy security will stabilize markets and mitigate the economic effects of the present energy crisis.
Qatar's Amir, Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, slammed the west for unfairly criticizing the Gulf state over its hosting of the 2022 World Cup. “For decades now, the Middle East has suffered, from discrimination. And I have found that such discrimination is largely based on people not knowing us, and in some cases, refusing to get to know us,” said Sheikh Tamim.

Even now, some people refuse to believe that an Arab Muslim country would host a major sporting event such as the World Cup. Several European countries have initiated boycott efforts since winning the bid to host the World Cup, a movement that has not been witnessed in other countries accused of severe human rights violations, like as Brazil and Russia.
“Qatar is constantly trying to improve, and full of hope, for a brighter future. We are so proud of the development, reform, and progress we have made, and we are grateful for the spotlight that the World Cup provided,” said the amir.
“I assure everyone listening, that this edition of the World Cup will be a special one. We believe that sport is a tool for positive change, promotes tolerance and respect, empowers-youth, and inspires unity,” he said.
