The roads to Aspire Park have seen more than their share of traffic the past two evenings, as over 10,000 people thronged to witness the opening day of the ‘Aspire Lake Festival’, organised by the Aspire Zone Foundation (AZF).
The Aspire Lake was transformed into an artistic masterpiece featuring more than 24 Italian performers led by acclaimed art director Robert Corona. They put on a breathtaking Venetian-inspired show comprising elegant and artistic singing, dancing, water, fire and air shows, performed in custom built sets and props including Gondolas and a lotus flower.
The Festival reinforces AZF’s position as a leading events organiser that brings unique and diverse experiences and activities to Doha. With world-class facilities and extensive experience and capabilities building on its heritage in sporting events, AZF’s programme provides entertainment and cultural activities for all members of the community.
Nasser Abdullah Al Hajri, Director of PR and Communications at AZF, highlighted how the event was such a success: “The team of experts at Aspire Logistics, a member organisation of AZF specialising in hosting major events for local community members, always go above and beyond.
“They travel extensively around the world to identify the best and most unique sporting and entertainment events to bring back to Qatar and make available to members of the community here. Tonight’s event, which is held for the first time in the Middle East, is a perfect example of that. The November breeze made it even more enjoyable.”
The Aspire Lake Festival wraps up tonight with two more shows at 7:30 pm and at 9:30pm.
