Escalating tensions between Iran and a US-Israel axis have spilled across the Gulf region, with multiple GCC states and Jordan reporting that their air defence systems intercepted Iranian missiles and drones.
The barrage followed direct strikes on Iranian targets yesterday, prompting Tehran to launch retaliatory attacks that regional governments have described as ‘violations of sovereignty and threats to civilian safety.’
Here is a look at how different GCC countries were affected by Iran’s retaliatory strikes.
QATAR
16 injured, no fatalities
Qatari authorities confirmed that Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeted Qatari territory, triggering air defence responses. According to the Ministries of Defence and Interior, 65 ballistic missiles and 12 drones were detected, with 63 missiles and 11 drones intercepted. Two missiles reached the Al Udeid Air Base, and one drone struck an early‑warning radar.
The Ministry of Interior and subsequent official updates reported a total of 16 injuries linked to falling debris: an initial 8 injured, followed by 8 additional injuries in later statements, including at least one person in critical condition. Authorities have stated that there are no fatalities in Qatar at this time.
Officials also reported handling over 100 reports of missile debris in different regions of the country and described the material damage as limited.
UAE
One civilian killed, multiple injured
The UAE reported that its air defence systems intercepted multiple Iranian ballistic missiles and drones targeting its territory, including Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
Regional reporting, citing UAE defence sources, referenced figures of around 137 missiles and 209 drones fired toward the UAE, with the majority intercepted.
Authorities confirmed at least one civilian fatality in Abu Dhabi – a Pakistani national killed by falling debris from an intercepted projectile in a residential area.
Dubai’s media office also confirmed that a concourse at Dubai International Airport sustained minor damage and four staff were injured during an incident linked to the Iranian strikes.
SAUDI ARABIA
Missiles target Riyadh, no confirmed casualties
Saudi Arabia’s Foreign Ministry confirmed that Iranian missiles targeted the Riyadh region and the Eastern Province, and that Saudi air defences intercepted the incoming projectiles.
The Kingdom has not disclosed precise missile or drone counts or confirmed fatalities or injury numbers related to the strikes.
KUWAIT
Civilians injured
Kuwait confirmed that its air defence systems engaged incoming projectiles, including missiles aimed at a base hosting US forces.
The Kuwaiti Ministry of Health stated that 12 people were injured in connection with the strikes and subsequent debris, with cases distributed across several hospitals in the country. Kuwait’s Civil Aviation Authority said a drone targeted Kuwait International Airport, causing minor injuries to several employees and limited material damage to Terminal 1.
Separate reporting citing the Defence Ministry indicated that three service members were injured by debris when air defences intercepted missiles near Ali Al‑Salem Air Base.
No fatalities have been officially reported.
BAHRAIN
No Casualties Reported
The General Command of the Bahrain Defence Force said its air defence systems shot down 45 Iranian missiles and nine drones, including Shahed-136 type drones.
A senior civil aviation official also confirmed that Bahrain International Airport was targeted in a drone attack, suffering minor material damage.
JORDAN
Air defences engaged, no official casualty figures
Jordan confirmed that its air defence systems intercepted incoming missiles as part of the broader regional barrage and issued statements condemning the escalation and affirming its commitment to protecting national airspace.

The situation continues to remain fluid, with different governments continuing to monitor airspace, investigate debris impact sites, and update casualty and damage figures through official channels.
