Chizaram Ezenwata came off the bench to fire a hat-trick as England overwhelmed Haiti 8-1, earning their first points in Group E of the FIFA U-17 World Cup at the Aspire Zone in Doha on Friday.

Luca Williams-Barnett slotted the opener in the first minute and doubled his tally with sublime footwork on the 64th, while Reigan Heskey’s 14th-minute penalty and goals from Reggie Walsh (21st), Alejandro Gomes Rodriguez (55th), and three from Ezenwata (57th, 69th, 80th) sealed the Three Lions’ triumph. Franco Celestin’s header goal in the 17th minute was all Haiti could manage as they exited the tournament.

Brazil maintained their all-win record, dispatching Indonesia 4-0. Luis Eduardo’s early header (3rd) set the tone, Putu Panji’s own goal (33rd) helped double the advantage, Felipe Morais fired home (39th), and Ruan Pablo finished a sweeping move with a thunderous strike (75th). With the win, Brazil punched their ticket to the next round.

Zambia followed them to the next round soon after, after powering past Honduras 5-2. Kelvin Chipelu (5th), Felix Phiri (14th), James Sibeene (40th), Billy Daka (73rd), and Abel Nyirongo (88th) found the net. Honduras responded through Yeison Arriola (44th) and David Flores (52nd) in a richly entertaining contest.

Meanwhile, Egypt fought to a 1-1 draw against Venezuela despite being reduced to ten men. Marcos Maitan nodded home for Venezuela (18th), but Hamza Abdelkarim equalised in the 54th. Egypt weathered the storm after Mohamed Hamad’s red card, defending bravely for a valuable point.

Mexico earned three vital points in Group F, defeating Cote d’Ivoire 1-0 courtesy of Ian Olvera’s header in the 74th minute. The Ivorians had several good chances, with Hubert Yao’s effort blocked by Michael Corona, but couldn’t find a way past the Mexican defense. Switzerland and Korea Republic played out a goalless draw, with late efforts from Kim Yegeon and Kim Jiwoo denied.

Colombia rued missed opportunities in a 0-0 draw with El Salvador - the latter collecting their first World Cup point. Captain Cristian Orozco’s sharp shot was saved, while Santiago Londono struck the post and had a goal chalked off for offside.

Germany and Korea DPR traded strikes in a 1-1 draw: Wisdom Mike finished off Benjamin Ley’s intricate buildup at 62, but substitute Han Il-bok curled a sublime equalizer into the top corner at 81 minutes.
