The College of Islamic Studies (CIS) at Hamad Bin Khalifa University’s (HBKU) ability to frame contemporary debates on Islam in a global context has been boosted by the findings of a recent peer-reviewed journal article.

‘A Survey of Islamic Finance – Influences and Influencers’ is a study published by the Pacific-Basin Finance Journal and studies the contribution of authors, institutions, and countries to the growing body of Islamic finance literature. Developed by 406 authors from 280 institutions from 57 countries, the article primarily focuses on almost 250 papers published since 2015.

The survey has placed two CIS faculty members firmly at the top for their research areas and interest. Dr. Mustafa Disli ranks at number 5 for total downloads and citations of Islamic banking themed papers. Moreover, the Assistant Professor of Economics and Finance also have been ranked 12th in all of the Islamic finance themed papers. He is accompanied by Dr. Ahmet F. Aysan, Professor and program coordinator of the Ph.D. program in Islamic Finance and Economy, on both lists, ranking at number six and fifteen respectively.
