The Social and Sport Contribution Fund (DAAM) and the Orphan Care Center (Dreama) have signed a funding agreement to support three programmes aimed at strengthening care and empowerment services for orphans and foster families.

Under the agreement, DAAM will provide financial support for the Building and Empowerment Program, the Children's Living Expenses Program and the Orphan Stories Program.

The Building and Empowerment Program focuses on psychological, social and skills development for orphans and foster families, while the Children's Living Expenses Program covers essential living costs, care and basic services for children at the centre.

The Orphan Stories Program uses educational media to instil moral and human values in children while promoting wider community awareness of social solidarity.

Sheikha Najla bint Ahmed Al Thani, Executive Director of Dreama, said the partnership with DAAM provides important support for the centre's efforts to strengthen care services for children and foster families.

She said the funding will help sustain programmes designed to meet children's psychological, social, educational and living needs, while developing their skills and supporting empowerment, self-reliance and positive integration into society.

She also highlighted the role of cross-sector partnerships, particularly with DAAM, in creating a lasting positive impact on the quality of life and future of children.

Yousef Mohammed Al Nuaimi, Director of Shared Services at DAAM, said the fund prioritises programmes that directly address the needs of targeted beneficiaries and improve service quality.

He added that the agreement represents an important step in integrating national efforts to provide comprehensive care for orphans and enhance their quality of life and stability.

The agreement also reflects the role of DAAM and public shareholding companies listed on the Qatar Stock Exchange in supporting social initiatives and sustainable development in line with Qatar National Vision 2030.

Dreama operates under the umbrella of Qatar Social Work and specialises in caring for and empowering orphans and foster families through social, psychological, educational and developmental programmes and services.

Since its establishment in 2010, DAAM has funded projects across the cultural, social, sports and charitable sectors, with contributions from Qatar Stock Exchange-listed companies forming a key part of its financial resources.
