The Qatar National Day activities is happening at Darb Al Saai in Umm Salal, drawing large crowds of citizens and residents.

Families remained the most prominent attendees, immersing their children in a vibrant heritage environment under this year’s slogan, “With you it rises, and from you it awaits.” The events, organized by the Ministry of Culture, run from December 10 to 20.

Darb Al Saai features a wide range of heritage, cultural, entertainment and artistic activities, reflecting Qatar’s identity and community spirit.

Ministry of Interior Showcases ‘Security Village’

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) is participating through a comprehensive Security Village, bringing together around 15 specialized departments and units. The pavilion highlights the ministry’s modern security systems and provides direct services, interactive awareness activities and educational tools for all ages.

The Police Academy is presenting military and musical displays alongside information about its academic programs, while the General Directorate of Civil Defense is offering live firefighting and rescue simulations and distributing safety materials. The Women’s Police Institute, Police Sports Federation, and various operational departments are also contributing displays and activities.

An AI-powered photography pavilion allows visitors to capture souvenir photos embedded with safety messages, reinforcing the ministry’s focus on public engagement and national stability.

Interactive screens and electronic games help children learn about security concepts, while specialized units — from Criminal Evidence and Information, Passports, and Community Policing to Traffic, Al Fazaa, Coast and Border Security, and Drug Enforcement — offer demonstrations, consultations and awareness sessions.

Qatar National Archives Draws Strong Interest

The Qatar National Archives is presenting a pavilion designed to reflect the historical evolution of Qatar’s emblem. Mohammed Hassan Al-Shahrani, Head of the Special Documents Department, said the participation aims to deepen public understanding of national memory and heritage. The popular “Al-Akas” photography corner allows visitors to capture images blending traditional and modern themes.

Al Bidda: Immersive Maritime Heritage Zone

The Al Bidda event offers an expanded showcase of Qatar’s maritime professions, featuring realistic simulations of pearl diving and fishing environments. Visitors can explore traditional tools, archival materials, and live demonstrations illustrating the sea’s historic role in shaping Qatar’s economy and society.

Al Tawash Pavilion Highlights Qatar’s Pearling Legacy

Ibrahim Al Jaber, participating through the Al Tawash shop, displays a curated selection of natural Qatari pearls—each documented with extraction details—and rare archival photographs. He said the pavilion attracts visitors of all ages eager to learn about pearl types, colors and characteristics.

Maritime Museum Captivates Visitors

Darb Al Saai’s Maritime Museum remains a major attraction, showcasing original diving tools, old navigation maps, and traditional ship models that shed light on Qatar’s maritime identity and professional heritage.

Traditional Crafts on Display

Artisans and shipwrights demonstrate traditional maritime professions, including net making, diving equipment preparation and wooden ship crafting. These live workshops offer visitors a close look at the skills that once shaped Qatar’s coastal communities.
