A dense fog covered Doha this morning, as well as the eastern-northern coasts of Qatar, the Qatar Meteorology Department announced in a tweet.

The fog was expected to ebb by around 10:00 am, according to a report by The Peninsula.

Motorists were warned to be cautious while driving on the roads this morning, with the Ministry of Interior also tweeting a warning to drivers about slow traffic due to poor visibility in most areas.

The weather department has said that it is likely that fog will build again tonight.

In terms of commuting, a few people opted out of driving to their offices as per their usual early routine, while others decided to make their way slowly and carefully.

The Qatar Meteorology Department, in its daily report, stated that weather inshore until 6 pm will be hazy to misty or foggy at places at first, with mild temperatures during the day and colder ones by night.

Offshore, it will be hazy to misty or foggy in places, with strong fog in certain patches.

Visibility will be 4 to 8 kilometers, or 1 kilometer or less, at places at first.

Wind inshore will be variable less than 5 knots at first, becoming mainly southwesterly to northwesterly at a speed of 5 to 15 knots. Offshore, it will be southwesterly to northwesterly at a speed of 3 to 12 knots.
