The Museum of Islamic Art (MIA) is launching its first Summer Camp programme in partnership with Qatar’s Internal Security Force, Lekhwiya, offering young participants two weeks of educational, cultural and physical activities in Doha.

Taking place from 2 to 13 August 2026, the programme will run daily from 9:00 am to 1:30 pm. It is designed for Qatari students between the ages of nine and 13, with separate programmes organised for boys and girls.

A combination of education, culture and physical activities

The MIA Summer Camp 2026 has been designed to take learning beyond the traditional classroom. Participants will explore Islamic art, science, culture and creativity through museum-based learning and practical activities.

The programme will also include sports, swimming, leadership exercises and adventure activities held at Lekhwiya Headquarters. These sessions aim to encourage teamwork, confidence, discipline and physical development among participating students.

Workshops with national organisations

Specialised workshops will be delivered by Qatar Scientific Club and Qatar Calendar House, introducing students to scientific, cultural and educational subjects through interactive experiences.

Participants will also take part in a one-day educational visit to the 3-2-1 Qatar Olympic and Sports Museum. The visit will give students an opportunity to explore Qatar’s sporting heritage and learn more about the role of sport in society.
