Qatar’s Ministry of Transport has announced the full resumption of maritime navigation activities for all types of maritime vessels and ships from Sunday, July 26, 2026.

The decision allows maritime journeys and activities to return fully under the regulations and safety requirements currently in effect.

Full resumption applies to all maritime vessels

The ministry’s announcement covers all types of vessels and ships operating in Qatar’s waters.

This includes leisure boats, fishing boats, jet skis and other maritime vessels that had been affected by earlier navigation advisories.

Owners, operators and passengers should continue checking official maritime instructions before setting out, particularly when planning leisure, fishing or water sports activities.

What maritime users should do before heading out

Before sailing, vessel owners and operators should:

  • Follow all current Ministry of Transport regulations and navigation instructions.
  • Confirm that the vessel is properly registered and authorised to operate.
  • Check that the required safety and security equipment is available and functional.
  • Review official weather and maritime notices before departure.
  • Avoid operating a vessel when conditions may place passengers or other maritime users at risk.

The Ministry of Transport continues to encourage responsible sailing and compliance with maritime safety requirements across Qatar.
