If you looked up at the sky yesterday night, you may have seen something bright, fiery and shiny in the sky.

Many people said it may have been a meteor burning up upon entry into Earth’s atmosphere, but the duration of the bright light was unusually long.

Did you look at the sky and see the strange light? Many people did and have been sharing videos of it on social media. Here is a video of the phenomenon taken by one of our colleagues at QL.

There were also several people on Twitter who caught the action on camera.

Qatar's metrology department confirmed that it was indeed a meteor that was spotted. It put up the following post on Instagram.
