Car accidents are a rising issue in the Middle East generally and in Qatar specifically. Moreover, these car accidents can cause fatalities, including the deaths of young passengers.

The fatalities involving children below the age of 12 can be addressed through the use and understanding of child restraint systems such as child car seats.

Qatar Foundation’s Northwestern University Qatar (NU-Q) is encouraging parents and drivers of children in Qatar to participate in an online survey focused on this issue.

The survey will take only 5-7 minutes to fill out and the information collected from this survey will be used to understand why parents or drivers in Qatar do or do not use child restraints systems.

Furthermore, the data collected for this study will investigate the beliefs, attitudes, social pressure, and environmental factors that might contribute to the use or non-use of child car restraints among parents in Qatar.

Parents and drivers are requested to take this survey to provide more insight and help tackle this issue through this study.

The results of the survey will be used as formative research to design a targeted persuasive health communication campaign aiming to change behaviors and attitudes around child car restraints non-use.

This formative research will be used to draft the messaging of the campaign and target those who need to be informed of the need for child restraint use in Qatar.

There are absolutely no risks in taking this survey and will be strictly confidential as the data will be stored in a password-protected electric format.

Also, your responses will remain completely anonymous so that you can give your honest opinion throughout the survey.
