Preparations are officially underway for the fourth edition of Web Summit Qatar, which will be held in Doha from 31 January to 3 February 2027, following the annual strategic meeting of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee.
The meeting was chaired by Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani, Director of the Government Communications Office and Chairman of the Permanent Web Summit Organising Committee, and brought together representatives from key government entities, including the Ministries of Interior, Foreign Affairs, Finance, Communications and Information Technology, Commerce and Industry, as well as Visit Qatar, Invest Qatar, the Qatar Investment Authority, Qatar Airways, and the Web Summit leadership team led by founder and CEO Paddy Cosgrave.
During the meeting, the committee reviewed the event's growing contribution to Qatar's startup ecosystem and digital economy.
According to the organisers, 69 startups that participated in the 2025 Startup Programme have collectively raised more than USD 205 million in investment funding. In addition, more than 300 companies registered with the Qatar Financial Centre (QFC) during Web Summit Qatar 2026, contributing to a 57% year-on-year increase in QFC registrations during the first quarter of the year.
The committee also noted that these achievements have supported Qatar's rise as a regional innovation hub, with the country recording its highest-ever position in the StartupBlink Global Startup Ecosystem Index.
Looking ahead to the 2027 edition, organisers said their priorities include attracting more international startups, investors and technology companies, expanding opportunities for Qatari entrepreneurs and ensuring the event continues to generate long-term economic impact.
Commenting on the preparations, Sheikh Jassim bin Mansour bin Jabor Al Thani said Web Summit Qatar has become an important platform connecting entrepreneurs, investors and technology leaders while supporting Qatar's digital economy.
Paddy Cosgrave, Founder and CEO of Web Summit, said each edition has demonstrated the strength of the partnership with Qatar and reflected the growing international interest in the event.
The fourth edition of Web Summit Qatar will return to Doha from 31 January to 3 February 2027, bringing together entrepreneurs, investors, policymakers and technology leaders from around the world to foster innovation, investment and global collaboration.
