Qatar has never held itself back when it comes to punishing criminals, and that is one of the reasons why the country enjoys one of the lowest crime rates anywhere in the world.
In the most recent example, a criminal court in Doha sentenced two men to death for carrying out a pre-planned murder of their employer. A third man, who knew about the crime but did not report it to the police, was handed out a six-month jail term, said Gulf Times.
According to the details of the case diary, the two murderers used to work for the victim. They conspired to kill their employer and flee with money and other valuables.
The murder plan was finalised a week before it was carried out. On the night of the murder, the victim asked one of the two men to help him repair his boat’s trailer. The helper called the second murderer to their side on the pretext of getting help from him.
The two convicts then overpowered the victim, stabbed him with a knife and repeatedly hit his head with a heavy brick until he died. They then buried him under a tree near the wall of his house.
Eventually, they ran away with his money and their papers but was later apprehended. The criminal court convicted them based on investigations as well as evidence included in the case.
