After yesterday’s dust storm, thunder, lightning and scattered rains, it looks like the weather is going to continue being unstable in the coming days.

Qatar’s Met department has said that unstable weather — including rain as well as winds and dust — is expected in Qatar beginning tomorrow until the start of next week.

The weather office said unstable weather is being caused by an ‘extension of a low-pressure system with good humidity and cooling in the upper atmospheric levels, which will help in the formation of clouds from tomorrow until the start of next week,” reported Gulf Times.

While the skies are expected to become cloudy at times, there is also a strong chance of scattered rain of light to moderate intensity.

Meanwhile, it has also been reported that Qatar had officially entered the ‘Wasmi season.’

“During Wasmi season, which will last 52 days, maximum temperature in Doha is expected to reach less than 35°C and minimum temperature will fall to about 20°C,” reported The Peninsula.

Yesterday, Qatar’s Met Department had posted a video of rainfall in the Al Shamal area. It also forecast chances of rain beginning Wednesday.

Yesterday, areas like Umm Al Amd, Al Shamal and Al Shahaniya received heavy rainfall. Low visibility due to the dust storm had also interrupted traffic on the Orbital Highway in Messaieed and Al Khor as well as on northern roads in Al Shamal, reported Qatar Tribune

The newspaper also cited sources as saying that some construction sites in Al Wakra had to cancel their night shift due to the dust storm and low visibility.

The VIP opening of the exhibition on Russian fashion collection as part of Qatar-Russia Year of Culture 2018 was postponed to today due to bad weather. The event will be held at the Doha Fire Station at 6.30pm today.

The Met department has asked people to be cautious and check the weather before venturing into the sea.
