With the Holy month of Ramadan around the corner, more institutions are announcing their plans to celebrate the occasion.

Yesterday, the Sheikh Eid bin Mohammed Al Thani Charitable Association (Eid Charity) announced the launch of the year’s biggest ‘Iftar meal’ project in Qatar, reported Qatar Tribune.

The initiative, it said, features the largest Ramadan tents in the country to facilitate breaking of the fast. The tents, spread across the country in 68 locations in 30 areas, will offer food to more than 15,000 people on a daily basis. It is understood that at least 450,000 people will be fed throughout the month.

People living in Qatar can donate to the cause, the charitable institution said.

While a donation of QR15 will be enough for a meal for one fasting person, QR450,000 will feed 1,000 persons over the entire month of Ramadan.

People can also provide food for 20 fasting people throughout Ramadan at the cost of QR9,000 or 10 people at the cost of QR4,500 throughout the month.

Food will also be provided for self-restraint families. With QR2,700, food can be provided to a whole family throughout the month of Ramadan. The project will be implemented in different locations including Abu Hamour, Muaither and Madinat Khalifa North.
