Only a few hours are remaining for the start of the Qatar National Day celebrations.

The Ministry of Interior (MoI) has announced that it had taken extensive measures to ensure that the celebrations are carried out safely for everyone involved.

While many activities and programmes have been planned throughout the country, the main event of the day will be the National Day Parade, which will be held at the Doha Corniche, reported Gulf Times.

The event, which will start at 2.45pm, will be a spectacular event that highlights national pride. People who wish to see the parade should arrive ay the Doha Corniche well ahead of time as the Corniche road will remain closed starting at 10am. All roads leading to the Doha Corniche will also be cordoned off.

Over 25 parking areas, ambulances and around 35 food trucks on either side of Doha Corniche have been arranged as part of celebrations, reported The Peninsula.

The parking areas for the public have been arranged near the exhibition centre close to Qatar Petroleum building. There will also be parking spots at the Doha Sheraton, behind Qatar Sports Club and near the Post Office.

Karwa buses have been allotted to transport the public to and from parking lots. Some coaches have also been assigned to families and people with special needs. Only vehicles of authorised personnel will be allowed near the Doha Corniche.

Parking spots are also available at the Imam Muhammad bin Abdul Wahab Mosque, Al Bidda underground parking places in front of the MoI building, near Marmar Palace, at the Qatar Bowling Centre and the land close to the old British Embassy building. The public can also park at the Souq Waqif and the Museum of Islamic Art, reported Qatar Tribune.
