The World Cup 2026 Round of 32 delivered another day of thrilling knockout drama, with England, Belgium, and hosts USA all securing their places in the Round of 16.
England and Belgium staged dramatic comebacks to advance, while the United States produced a composed display to set up a mouthwatering last-16 clash against Belgium.
HARRY KANE BRACE HELPS ENGLAND THROUGH

A brace from Harry Kane helped England come from behind to defeat DR Congo 2-1 and book their place in the World Cup 2026 Round of 16 after a dramatic Round of 32 clash at the Atlanta Stadium on Wednesday, July 1.
DR Congo made the perfect start when Brian Cipenga fired them ahead in the seventh minute and held onto the lead until the second half.
Kane restored parity in the 75th before completing his team’s comeback with his second goal in the 86th, sending the Three Lions into the pre-quarterfinal stage.
TIELEMANS DOUBLE HELPS BELGIUM

Belgium completed a sensational comeback to defeat Senegal 3-2 after extra time and book their place in the World Cup 2026 Round of 16 at the Seattle Stadium on Thursday, July 2.
Senegal looked to be in complete control after Habib Diarra opened the scoring in the 24th minute before Ismaila Sarr doubled the lead in the 51st. But Belgium mounted a dramatic late fightback, with Romelu Lukaku (86th) and Youri Tielemans (89th) scoring to force extra time.

Just as the match looked destined for a shootout, Belgium were awarded a stoppage-time penalty (120+5), which Tielemans converted to send his nation to the next round in dramatic fashion.
USA OVERCOMES BOSNIA & HERZEGOVINA

Hosts USA booked their place in the World Cup 2026 Round of 16 with a commanding 2-0 win over Bosnia and Herzegovina at the San Francisco Bay Area Stadium on Thursday, July 2.
After a goalless first half, Folarin Balogun broke the deadlock in the 45th minute. However, there was heartbreak for the player as he was shown a red card in the 64th. Malik Tillman then sealed the win with a brilliant 82nd-minute free-kick, sending the home fans into celebration.

The USA will face Belgium in the Round of 16 as they continue their quest for World Cup glory.
