The IAAF World Athletics Championships may have ended, but there's lots more on the way for which you should keep your sporting spirit up!
With the road to 2022 getting shorter, Qatar is ready to be the stage to some prestigious sporting events this year, including the first-ever Association of National Olympic Committees (ANOC) World Beach Games Qatar 2019.
As many as 1237 athletes, from 97 different countries, are gearing up to compete in the multisport global event in Qatar.
A total of 31 athletes, representing Team Qatar, will be competing in the event.
According to ANOC, Doha residents and citizens will have the unique opportunity to attend the games free-of-charge.

The ANOC World Beach Games Qatar 2019 will see a range of beach sports on the competition arena including Beach Soccer, Beach Handball, Beach Tennis, Beach Wrestling, Open Water Swimming, and many more.

The tournament will run from October 11 to 16.
Director of Marketing and Communications at Qatar Olympic Committee Sheikha Asma Al-Thani said that it's a pleasure to allow everyone to participate in one way or another and expressed joy in announcing that attendance of this historic edition will be free.
She added that the Qatar 2019 World Beach Games is an extraordinary event that is being held for the first time in the history of beach sports.
Beach sports atmosphere is suitable for the whole family and the crowd will come in large numbers to encourage their teams and enjoy the beaches of Doha, she added.
The 14 different competitions of the ANOC World Beach Games will be held in four locations: the Katara Cultural Village, Aspire Zone, Al Gharafa Stadium and the Ritz-Carlton Doha's Leqtaifiya Lagoon.
According to the schedule of the tournament, Aquathlon, 3x3 Basketball, Karate Kata Individual, Kitefoil Racing, Beach Soccer, Open Water 5km, Beach Tennis and Beach Wrestling will be held at Katara Beach, while the Al Gharafa courts will host Beach Handball and Volleyball 4x4 competitions.
Meanwhile, Climb Bouldering and Skateboarding will take place in Aspire Park and The Ritz-Carlton (Leqtaifiya Lagoon) will host the Waterski and Wakeboard competitions.
