Student Affairs (SA) under Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU) are hosting a mind mapping community class in an effort to promote public engagement. The mind mapping classes will educate participants on how the tool can be incorporated into everyday life activities and is set to take place on November 16 and 17.
Individuals who participate in this beneficial class will initially be taught to create their own mind map before looking into the practical applications of the technique. This will enable the student to use mind maps to make decisions, organize thoughts, take notes in meetings and from printed material, present important information, and much more.

Bilal Abdul Sathar, an HBKU alumnus who is helping to organize the session, said, “We enjoy developing community classes, and this will be no exception. Mind mapping techniques are commonly used to enhance learning, understanding, and memory, and can be used in work, learning, and social settings. Users frequently report that mind mapping leads to clearer thinking, increased confidence, and a more focused approach to learning. Other benefits include stronger presentations and more assertive approaches to communication.
“In keeping with other community classes, this event has attracted a diverse mix of participants curious to learn more about how mind mapping can benefit personal development. I am confident the class will be engaged and enthusiastic from beginning to end and will develop some very interesting mind maps in the process. We hope that they will apply lessons learned outside the classroom.”
