If you are someone who loves arts and history and would like to take a trip down Qatar’s history, then you should certainly check out the Lawal Antiquities Exhibition, organised by the Hamad Bin Khalifa University (HBKU), from October 22 to 24.
The exhibition, which will be held at the Multaqa building (formerly known as the Education City Student Center), will showcase rare items that date back to more than 100 years, reported Gulf Times.
The most prominent items on display will be an antique collection belonging to Kamal Naji Mohamad, who started collecting wide-ranging artefacts from a very early age.
Visitors will be able to see several interesting items including old cameras, televisions and radios that were popular prior to the arrival of modern-day technologies.
The exhibition will feature a display of traditional Qatari clothes and historical books that will provide a window for the visitors to the past. Qatar’s roadmap for the future will also be prominently displayed, reported Qatar Tribune.
“The exhibition is intended to immerse the community in culturally enriching experiences. It’ll provide visitors with a detailed explanation of each object and its relevance, offer live black-and-white photography sessions and present screenings of old movies,” said HBKU’s Vice-president of student affairs Maryam Al Mannai.
