The 18th edition of the Heya Arabian Fashion Exhibition, Qatar’s biggest platform for contemporary Arabian fashion, is hosted by Qatar Tourism, in collaboration with Qatar Business Events Corporation (QBEC). The exhibition includes a dedicated booth for Shafallah Centre to highlight the talents and creativity of persons with disability under the slogan “Fashion for a Cause”.

The Shafallah Centre is participating throughout the exhibition, from December 12 to 17, at Doha Exhibition and Convention Centre (DECC) from 10:00 to 22:00, and on Friday from 15:00 to 22:00. The booth showcases handicrafts and artistic designs, the art of printing on various materials, bag decoration, gift wrapping, and accessories.

Ahmed Al Obaidli, CEO of Qatar Business Events Corporation, said: “We are pleased to cooperate with the Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disability.  As an integral part of society, Qatar Tourism supports inclusion, it is part of our framework and we continue to support it, to achieve the Qatar National Vision.”

“Through Heya, we seek to promote social integration, and we are confident that all members of society, no matter their ability, can excel in the field of fashion. To that end, Heya will remain a supportive platform for all segments of society” he added.

Executive Director of Al Shafallah Centre, Laalei Abu Alfain, said: “Shafallah Centre is always keen to actively participate in such exhibitions that support the centre’s services and highlight the capabilities of its members. We aim to enhance their integration into society through participation in exhibitions and conferences and encourage the responsible role of individuals and society.”

“Through our Rehabilitation and Vocational Training Department at Shafallah Centre for Persons with Disability, we provided our members training workshops to participate in Heya Arabian Fashion exhibition, the booth showcases handicrafts and artistic designs, including bag decoration, gift wrapping, and accessories, in addition to the art of printing on various materials such as cups. I would like to thank the organisers for inviting the centre to be part of the exhibition,” she added.

The exhibition features 130 brands from 10 countries including Qatar, the GCC countries, India, Lebanon, Indonesia, Morocco, and Turkey, allowing visitors to discover the best regional and international designs. ​The collections range from high-street fashion to haute couture, luxury modest evening gowns and abayas, accessories, cosmetics and perfumes.
