His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani will head Qatar's delegation to the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, set to take place at the UN's headquarters in New York.
HH the Amir will deliver a speech during the opening session of the UN General Assembly on Tuesday, September 24.

Before his participation in the UN General Assembly, HH the Amir will pay a working visit to France and the United Kingdom.
He arrived in Paris on last evening and will hold talks with French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace on today.

On Wednesday, HH the Amir will meet with the British Prime Minister Boris Johnson at 10 Downing Street in London, UK.
The talks will be centered on strengthening strategic relations and bilateral co-operation in various fields of partnership, in addition to exchanging views on the latest developments in the region and the world.
Regarding HH the Amir’s visit to the UK, British Ambassador to Qatar HE Ajay Sharma pointed to the “historic, deep and important” relationship between his country and Qatar, reported Qatar Tribune.
The British ambassador expressed hope HH the Amir’s visit would further cement bilateral relations between the two countries across areas of mutual benefit.
With regards to France, this is HH the Amir's third official visit to the country since July 2018.
The visit is particularly important in light of the Qatar-France Year of Culture which the two countries will mark in 2020, paving the way for cultural exchanges and strengthening friendly relations.
Earlier this year, Qatar and France signed a number of agreements in a variety of fields including defense and security.
The Amir visited Paris last time in November, 2018, to attend the first Paris Peace Forum on the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.
