His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani headed Qatar’s delegation to the 30th Summit of the Council of the Arab League held in Tunisia yesterday.
The summit of Arab leaders brought together the rulers of Qatar and Saudi Arabia on the same platform for the first time since the illegal blockade was imposed on Qatar in June 2017, reported Reuters.

According to Qatar News Agency, HH the Amir along with his delegation took part in the opening session accompanied by a number of leaders from regional and international organizations.

HH the Amir made his departure from Tunis shortly after attending the opening session, reported QNA without specifying details of his next destination.

Habib Essid, adviser to the Tunisian President, bid farewell to Qatar’s ruler and the accompanying delegation at the Tunis-Carthage International Airport  on Sunday afternoon, reported Gulf Times.

HH the Amir expressed his sincere gratitude and appreciation for the Tunisian President Beji Caid Essebsi recognizing the hospitality and honor accorded to him and Qatar’s delegation during their visit to Tunisia.

According to a statement issued by QNA, HH the Amir hoped that the summit's results would contribute to supporting and promoting joint Arab action for the benefit of the Arab people. 

He further wished the president health and happiness and to the Tunisian people further progress and prosperity, reported The Peninsula.

Earlier upon his arrival at Carthage International Airport, HH the Amir and the accompanying delegation were welcomed by Prime Minister of Tunisia Youssef Chahed, Habib Essid, Tunisian Defence Minister Abdelkareem Zubaidi, Qatar's ambassador to Tunisia Nasser bin Saad Al Humaidi, Tunisian ambassador to Qatar Salah Al Salhi, and members of the Qatari embassy.
