His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, Chairman of the Supreme Council for Economic Affairs and Investment (SCEAI), yesterday chaired the council's third meeting for this year.
The meeting took place at the Amiri Diwan and saw the attendance of HH the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani, Deputy Chairman of the Council as well as HE the Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Abdullah bin Nasser bin Khalifa Al Thani, Executive Member of the Council, and Their Excellencies the members of the council.

The council discussed topics on the meeting agenda and took the related, appropriate measures.
Furthermore, the council reviewed the work process of the second National Development Strategy 2018-2022.
It also reviewed the latest developments concerning the Free Zone Authority, particularly the approval of investment applications from major international and local companies worth more than QR1bn. The investments target key economic, industrial and technological projects in the free zones in Qatar.
The council also reviewed the adoption of privileged partnerships between the country's private sector and international companies from various fields.
SCEAI specializes in all matters relating to the economy, energy, investment of the state's reserves, the development of public policies in the fields of economy, finance, commercial and energy.
The council also approves the plans required for the implementation and follow-up of these matters and approves the special projects for utilizing the state's natural resources, major industrial and economic projects undertaken by the state or authorities or institutions or public companies.
