The holy month of Ramadan has begun in Qatar and on this blessed occasion, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani has congratulated the leaders of Arab and Islamic countries in a number of telephonic conversations held yesterday.

HH the Amir exchanged greetings with the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, King Mohamed VI of Morocco, King Abdullah II of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan and the President of Iraq Dr Barham Salih.

The Amir also congratulated President Beji Caid Essebsi of Tunisia, President Mahmoud Abbas of Palestine, President Recep Tayyip Erdogan of Turkey and the Crown Prince of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah on the arrival of Ramadan, regarded as the best of months in the Islamic calendar.

His Highness the Deputy Amir Sheikh Abdullah bin Hamad Al Thani also exchanged cables of congratulations with a number of leaders of Arab and Islamic countries, on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan.

HH the Amir also received a cable of congratulations on the holy month of Ramadan from HE the Speaker of the Advisory Council Ahmed bin Abdullah bin Zaid Al Mahmoud.

The Council speaker congratulated HH the Amir on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, on behalf of the Council members and himself.

HE Al Mahmoud also reaffirmed their loyalty to HH the Amir and confirmed their determination to serve the nation and the citizens.

He also wished good health and wellness upon HH the Amir as well as prosperity to Qatar under HH the Amir's wise leadership.

The Amir in a cable to the Speaker and the Advisory Council members expressed his thanks for the wishes, congratulating them on the advent of the holy month of Ramadan, wishing them health and further progress and prosperity.

The Amiri Diwan also announced yesterday that HH the Amir will receive Their Excellencies the Sheikhs, the ministers, the Speaker and the members of the Advisory Council, and the citizen well-wishers on the holy month of Ramadan at Al Wajba Palace tonight (Monday) and tomorrow (Tuesday), right after Tarawih prayers.
