His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani yesterday met with the French President Emmanuel Macron at the Elysee Palace in Paris.

Later, HH the Amir attended a working lunch hosted by President Macron at the Elysee Palace.

The two leaders discussed the development of strategic ties and cooperation.

The talks also focused on the latest developments in the region and the world, particularly in the Gulf and in Libya.

Members of the official delegation accompanying HH the Amir also attended the working lunch.

On the French side, the meeting was attended by a number of ministers and top officials.

HH the Amir arrived in Paris on Wednesday evening.

This is HH the Amir's third visit to France since July 2018. The Amir visited Paris last time in November, 2018, to attend the first Paris Peace Forum on the invitation of French President Emmanuel Macron.

The visit will further cement the friendly relations between the two countries, which in recent years have been boosted through a number of agreements particularly in the fields of defense, security, sports, and combating terrorism. 

After HH the Amir's working visit to the UK today, he will participate in the 74th session of the United Nations (UN) General Assembly, set to take place at the UN’s headquarters in New York.

He will deliver a speech during the opening session of the General Assembly on September 24.
