His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani today met with the President of Maldives Ibrahim Mohamed Solih, who is in Qatar for an official visit.

The two leaders held official talks at the Amiri Diwan, Qatar News Agency reported.

The session looked into ways of boosting bilateral cooperation, particularly in the areas of investment and tourism.

HH the Amir and the President of Maldives also exchanged views on issues of mutual interest.

Several of their Excellencies, ministers from the Qatari side as well as members of the official delegation accompanying President Solih were present at the session.

A luncheon banquet was hosted by HH the Amir in honor of the Maldives’ President as well as the delegation accompanying him.

Earlier upon his arrival at the Hamad International Airport, the President of Maldives was welcomed by the Director of the Protocol Department at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
