With a view to further cement Qatar-Jordan bilateral ties, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and King Abdullah II bin Hussein of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan held official talks at the Amiri Diwan yesterday.
At the beginning of the meeting, HH the Amir welcomed the Jordanian king and the delegation accompanying him, wishing him a good stay.
HH the Amir also expressed Qatar’s keenness to further enhance and develop relations with Jordan in various fields.

The King of Jordan thanked HH the Amir for the warm welcome and hospitality, saying that he looked forward to strengthening bilateral cooperation to achieve the mutual aspirations of both countries.
During the meeting, the two leaders discussed bilateral relations and ways to consolidate them in different domains, specifically political, economic, investment, developmental and cultural.
Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior HE Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani, and a number of Their Excellencies the ministers, also participated in the meeting.
On the Jordanian side, Prince Ali bin Hussein, Prime Minister Dr Bisher Al Khasawneh, and several members of the official delegation accompanying the king joined the session.
The meeting also saw the two sides exchange views on various regional and international issues and the most recent developments.
The Jordanian king was accorded an official reception upon arrival at the Amiri Diwan.
Earlier yesterday, HH the Amir led well-wishers to welcome the Jordanian king and the accompanying delegation upon their arrival at Doha International Airport on an official visit to the country.
Agreement signed on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and special passports
As part of the Jordanian king's visit, an agreement on mutual visa exemption for holders of diplomatic and special passports between Qatar and Jordan was also signed yesterday.

The agreement was initialled by HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani and HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan Ayman Al Safadi.
Additionally, a Memorandum of Understanding was also inked between Qatar Investment Authority and Jordan's Government Investments Management Company (GIMC).
