The last few days have seen prominent figures in the region voice their optimism on the imminent resolution of the Gulf crisis.

A statement from Kuwait, which has been leading mediation efforts among the countries involved in the Gulf crisis, confirmed that fruitful discussions to resolve the crisis have taken place recently.

In the statement on Friday, Kuwait’s Foreign Minister Sheikh Ahmed bin Nasser Al Sabah affirmed that all the concerned parties have expressed their concern for regional stability to achieve the best for the peoples of the GCC and the countries.

Yesterday, His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani received a message from the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Nawaf al-Ahmed al-Sabah thanking and appreciating HH the Amir for his efforts to resolve the GCC crisis.

The Kuwaiti Amir extended his best wishes to HH the Amir and appreciated him for Qatar’s efforts, supporting the endeavors initiated by the late Amir of Kuwait to end the rift and reach an agreement to ensure the unity, solidarity and cooperation of the GCC.

The Amir of Kuwait underlined that the achievement of an agreement “among brothers” reflected HH the Amir’s keenness to maintain the gains of the GCC structure, its unity and its role on the regional and international fronts.

This will further support GCC leaders to join efforts in fulfilling the aspirations of the peoples and address the prominent challenges in the region, the Kuwaiti Amir pointed out.

Sheikh Nawaf had also sent a message to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud of Saudi Arabia as well as the US President Donald Trump for their roles in resolving the Gulf crisis.

Several countries have come forward to express their optimism and appreciation for Kuwait's statement on the Gulf crisis. According to the Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), these include Jordan, Oman, Lebanon, Algeria, Mauritiana, Morocco, among others.

Prominent organizations and entities including, the United Nations (UN) and the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) also hailed the Kuwaiti statement and the efforts made to put differences aside and reach a solution in the crisis.
