His Highness the Amir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani met with His Highness the Amir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah at his residence in New York yesterday.

HH the Amir enquired about the health of the Kuwaiti ruler, had recently undergone successful medical tests.

HH the Amir wished the Kuwaiti leader good health and wellness.

During the meeting, they reviewed the bilateral relations and the ways to boost and develop them for the benefit of the people of the two countries.

Several members of the delegation accompanying the Amir also attended the meeting.

From the Kuwaiti side, the meeting was attended by Deputy Chief of the National Guard Sheikh Meshaal Al Ahmad Al Jaber Al Sabah, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Sheikh Sabah Al Khaled Al Hamad Al Sabah and a number of the members of the delegation accompanying the Amir of Kuwait.

Qatar's and Kuwait have always enjoyed strong brotherly relations, which have been further cemented by Kuwait's unwavering support to Qatar ever since the Gulf crisis erupted.

The two countries have pledged support and cooperation in several areas including political, economic, trade, investment, military and security cooperation, education, tourism and art.

Earlier this year, upon the directives of HH the Amir, Qatar officially launched the Sabah Al Ahmad Corridor project, in appreciation of the Kuwaiti Amir, reflecting the strength of the relationship between the two nations.

HH the Amir is currently in New York to attend the 74th session of the United Nations General Assembly. He is set to deliver a speech tomorrow at the opening session of the assembly.
