HH Sheikha Moza bint Nasser, Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, attended the Qatar Foundation Schools Showcase at Qatar Science & Technology Park, where students presented innovative projects and ideas across artificial intelligence, sustainability, science, technology, the arts and interdisciplinary research.
HE Sheikha Hind bint Hamad Al Thani, Vice Chairperson of Qatar Foundation, also attended the showcase, which was organised by Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education.
The event was designed to connect students with real-world environments where they could present their ideas and engage with industry experts, researchers and Qatar Foundation alumni.
Around 50 student projects addressing real-world challenges across fields including artificial intelligence, sustainability, health and culture were featured at the showcase.
Partners included Qatar Science & Technology Park, Hamad Bin Khalifa University, the Qatar Research, Development and Innovation Council and Qatar National Library, alongside public and private sector organisations and Qatar Foundation alumni.
Abeer Al Khalifa, President of Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, said opportunities to apply learning to real-world challenges help students develop confidence and begin seeing themselves as contributors to Qatar’s future from an early age.
She highlighted the importance of connecting students with researchers, industry partners and innovators, helping them strengthen communication, teamwork, leadership and problem-solving skills while understanding how their ideas can create tangible impact.
Mehdi Benchaabane, Vice President of QF Schools within Qatar Foundation’s Pre-University Education, said hosting the showcase at Qatar Science & Technology Park allowed students to experience a real innovation ecosystem and see themselves as part of it.
The academic foundation of the experience includes the independent personal project undertaken during the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate, encouraging students to identify real challenges, conduct research and develop projects with practical potential.
Students were also encouraged to present their projects in both Arabic and English within bilingual programmes, helping strengthen their academic and professional communication skills.
The showcase reflects Qatar Foundation’s focus on applied learning and preparing students to turn ideas into solutions and innovations that respond to future needs.
