After overcoming the peak stage of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) outbreak and being successful in flattening the curve, Qatar will enter Phase 4 of the lifting COVID-19 restrictions in September.

Qatar’s Cabinet held its regular meeting at its headquarters in the Amiri Diwan this afternoon.

His Excellency Qatar’s Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdulaziz Al Thani chaired the meeting.

The following were the other decisions made:

- The Council of Ministers decides to cancel its decision regarding the suspension of medical services in private health care facilities and to cancel its decision on stopping home services provided by cleaning and hospitality companies. This decision is effective as of September 1, 2020.

- The Council of Ministers decides to amend its decision on holding all meetings for employees and workers in the government and private sectors remotely using technical means, to allow the meetings to be held with the attendance of no more than 15 people. This decision is effective as of September 1, 2020.

- The Council of Ministers decides to continue its decision with 80% of the total number of employees in the government and private sector to go to the workplace, while the remaining number of employees start their work remotely depending on the circumstances.

Other decisions:

- The Council of Ministers approves a Cabinet draft decision amending some provisions of Resolution No. 14 of 2017 to form a committee to organize hosting international and regional sporting events and events, and the Ministry of Culture and Sports’ proposal to renew the term of the committee’s membership for three years.

- The Cabinet approves the initial report prepared by the competent committee at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs in accordance with the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights, for submission to the Secretariat of the Human Rights Committee in Geneva.
