Qatar’s Department of Meteorology has warned people of a very hot day ahead on Wednesday, saying it expected the temperature to peak at 42°C, with a low of 32°C, in and around the country.
The department said it expected weather inshore, until 6pm, to be hot to very hot. Offshore, one could expect haze, with some clouds at times. Visibility inshore was predicted to be within the range of 5 to 10km, while offshore, it is expected to reach only 4 to 9km.
Southwesterly to northwesterly winds are expected to reach speeds of 5 to 15 knots inshore, perhaps going up to 20knots during day time, before shifting to the northwesterly to southeasterly direction.
Meanwhile, offshore winds will blow in the northeasterly to northwesterly direction, at speeds of 3 to 13 knots.
Inshore sea waves are forecasted to reach 1 to 2 ft in height, while offshore winds will be 1 to 3 ft in height. Caution has also been advised for individuals with sensitivities to heat and humidity.
