Qatar has left no stone unturned in its fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

From a very early stage, the country implemented a series of preventive and precautionary measures to curb the spread of the virus.

Relevant authorities have worked above and beyond to monitor public compliance with these measures to protect the health of Qatar’s citizens and residents.

With a recent spike in the number of active COVID-19 cases, the Ministry of Public Health (MoPH) amended quarantine requirements for travelers arriving in Qatar last week.

In a post on its Twitter page, the Ministry reminded, “Building on the previously announced return from travel policy to the State of Qatar, it is decided that any previous exemptions from hotel quarantine shall no longer apply for people returning back to Qatar from countries, not on the green list.”

The Ministry shared an illustration that features the kind of quarantine arrivals from the green list countries and those not on the list will undergo in Qatar.

Earlier, the Ministry had specified that this decision also includes those who were previously excluded from the hotel quarantine before their travel and visitors coming to Qatar.

The Ministry affirmed that the current travel and return policy and the quarantine policy for countries included in the Green List will continue.

MoPH said it will review the decision regularly and take necessary measures in line with the public health indicators in Qatar and the rest of the world.
